Price is no object, so don't consider it.
1962 Maserati 3500 GTi or
1962 Aston Martin DB4

Is this 100 percent hypothetical or are there ads with links and more pictures?

Maserati because pretty blue.

DB4 no question. Not sure the wheel vents or wheels themselves work for me. The Aston is just oozing prestige and class.

The Maserati is for sale. But, this is purely hypothetical.

DB4 because, well, DB4.

this one, all day, no doubt

Such. Hard. Choice. Head. Exploding.

If maintenance is not an issue Maserati. If it is an issue than I'll take the DB4 with it's carbs over the Maserati's first gen Lucas fuel injection.

Oh, I think the Aston.

Maserati, any day of the week.

The poor man's alternative
![]() 06/11/2014 at 09:23 |

Neither, I'm too tall for both. Make that a new Aston Marton DB9 and I'm in.

DB4. Because bond
![]() 06/11/2014 at 09:27 |

He had a DB5
![]() 06/11/2014 at 09:28 |

DB4

The Maserati - the engine is fuel injected and doesn't overheat (unlike the Aston). Plus it's classy as fuck.

I think the Maserati for style. I'd probably be pushed more towards the DB4 if it was a GT.

I would go for both! In the Aston I would play Iron Maiden or The Beatles through the radio, in the Maserati, I would be listening to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

Aston Martin DB4 easily out of the two but the Lancia Aurelia b24 Spider will always come first.
Also for the same era I'd also be looking at a Lancia Flaminia Touring GT.
That's the things with these cars of that era, it's incredibly hard to tie yourself down to just one of them. I think I have by now a list of 30 cars from the late 50s early 60s that I'd love to have in my garage (if I had a garage).

crap, ur right. major derp moment on my part.....
![]() 06/11/2014 at 09:40 |

DB4 because Bond, James Bond.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 09:41 |

Doesn't matter. Bond drives an Aston Martin not a Maserati.

She's beautiful but I'd want her in white (The Saint style).
Can't not add the 'XCAR' review for fun. Lol.

The Maserati.

He drove Bentley's first, and is back to Bentley in the books.

This is a very tough one...but I would choose the DB4. All of the classic and modern coupes that I love have a sloping roof. That is the only thing I don't absolutely love about the 3500 GTi...However, if we were talking about the 3500 GTi's slightly younger brother (the Ghibli...my favorite classic European GT car)...that would be a different discussion (a little apples and oranges though)

I actually like the way this one looks over the above two.

Yeah and no real worries about thrashing it.
![]() 06/13/2014 at 15:29 |

The Aston, because its such an iconic classic. Everyone recognizes the original bond car.
![]() 06/13/2014 at 15:30 |

But, it's not the original bond car.

Just looked it up and I am definitely wrong. But ignorant casual movie goers such as myself would share my views at least!
